  • Are the items displayed on this website authentic?

YES.  Better with Tyme Antiques guarantees that the information regarding the age, origin, condition, and all other attributes pertaining to the antiques and collectibles displayed on our website is true and accurate.  We take care to fully describe our items, including any flaws.  If you have any questions about the item(s) you are ordering, please use the question form on the Contact Us page to ask us about the item(s) before placing your order.

  • How old does an item have to be, to be considered "antique"?

The word "antique" is likely to be one of the most elastic in the English language.  The definition of this term is subject to vary depending on the person or organization defining it.  According to custom laws, which are subject to update annually, an antique is any object that is 100 years old or older. The American interpretation however, holds that anything made before 1920 can be branded as an antique.  That being said, an ever increasing interest in 20th century items has resulted in many pieces from this period being added recently into the "antique" category as well.  Europeans, on the other hand, have a very different perception of "old" because their history goes back so much further than our own.

  • What does the term "vintage" mean?

The word "vintage" comes to us from wineries and brings with it thoughts of quality, excellence, maturity and enduring appeal.  The term antique, on the other hand, seems to imply more of an art sense.  "Vintage" varies in definition even more than "antique" simply because collectors have different standards for what items attain vintage status in their particular area of specialty.  As a rule of thumb, the term vintage usually applies to an item that is old but still in use - as in vintage clothing or an automobile from a specific year.

  • Can we send you a catalog on the American Country Pine, Solid Oak or Cherry Mission Furniture?

Yes, full color catalogs are available upon request for each of our handcrafted, custom built furniture collections.  If you'd like one sent to you, call us at 877-297-2800 or email us at
customerservice@bwtantiques.com.  Please be sure to specify which furniture collection you are interested in.  We do require a $5.00 fee for shipping and handling.

  • Can we send you a catalog of our antiques and collectibles?

Unfortunately, the nature of our business makes it difficult to maintain a current catalog of our antique and collectible inventory.  By the time a catalog is created and mailed out, many of the items displayed in it would have already sold, with new items taking their place.  If you want to know what we have, please ask us.  We're happy to help our customers with any questions they may have.

  • Does Better with Tyme Antiques offer restoration services?

Not at this time, however check back with us often as we're looking to be able to offer this service to our customers in the near future.

  • Do we offer appraisals on antiques and collectibles?

No. We are a professional antique dealer and as such our reputation and livelihood depends solely on our ability to recognize the authenticity and other attributes of the antiques and collectibles we sell.  Our customers rely on us to get it right every time or we're out of business.

  • Do we take items on consignment?

Better with Tyme Antiques actively accepts consignments from our customers. It's our belief that in order to give items the consideration they deserve and require, we need to be able to see them in person.  For this reason, we have established specific consignment guidelines.  Consignors receive sixty percent (60%) of the selling price and their items are displayed for up to ninety (90) days. If you are interested in consigning an item, please read through our Consignment Policies for more detailed information.

  • How much will shipping cost?

Shipping costs are reasonable and do vary by weight, size and destination. To provide customers with an estimate we need to know the item(s) being shipped, the destination city and the zip code.
  • What are our payment terms?

Better with Tyme Antiques does require payment in full before items are shipped.  We do accept checks, cash, credit cards and PayPal.

  • How do we ship purchases to you?

Most items are shipped by USPS-PriorityIns.  We may elect to ship by some other carrier and will notify you if that is the case.  All orders shipped to addresses outside the U.S. will be shipped U.S. Postal Service or UPS.  Whichever carrier is used, your shipment will be professionally packed, fully insured and will typically arrive within ten to twelve business days of receipt of payment.
