Apr 23, 2011 The 17th Annual Chester Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Historic Chester Business Association (HCBA), will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, in downtown Historic Chester, New Jersey. This fun, family-oriented Spring holiday event will feature over 5,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes, and includes a competitive Jelly-Bean Counting Contest and confectionary-themed raffles. Attendees will enjoy live music and comedy from legendary children’s entertainer, Polka Dot the Clown, and a special visit from The Easter Bunny. Children and their parents will meet at Gazebo/Municipal Field on Main Street at 10:30 am for the largest Easter Egg hunt in Morris County, “To see the tremendous passion and energy of hundreds of children is worth every candy, every egg, and every effort to touch our community,” comments Kathy Barbieri, President of the HCBA. “Last year’s event drew more than 1,000 people and we expect it to be even larger this year.” Rain

Oct 8, 2011 All pets are welcome but dogs must be on a leash. All other pets must be in a secure container. Registration will take place from 11:00 am to 12:15pm at Municipal Field Gazebo. There is no fee to enter the parade, though participants are asked to bring a donation of unopened cat or dog food. Items will be donated to the Chester Food Pantry for pets. Parade will travel West on Main Street to Well Bred, 25 Main Street, for judging. Participants who miss the parade down Main Street may gather at Well Bred and will be considered for the Final Judging. Prizes awarded for:
Oct 31, 2011 Does your little monster have a fang-tastic costume? Historic Chester invites you to join their Annual Halloween Costume Contest and Parade, to be held on October 31, 2011. Trick or Treating throughout Downtown Chester begins at 2:00 pm. The parade line-up will commence at 4:30 pm at Pleasant Pools & Patio, located at 110 Main Street. Refreshments provided by local merchants at the parade parking lot. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to participate. Judging for the Costume Contest will be based on ‘Best Costume’. Cash prizes for First Place ($500 Savings Bond), Second Place ($200 Savings Bond) and Third Place ($100 Savings Bond). Ribbons awarded to each participate at the end of the parade.
